What Foundations Is Designed to Do

A consistent starting point, not a shortened course

Foundations provides employees with foundational commercial cleaning knowledge and creates a more consistent starting point across a team.

It is information-based training, designed to support the hands-on and workplace-specific training provided by the employer. It is an intentionally foundational training option with its own purpose — the knowledge behind the work, so that safe, correct habits are in place from the beginning.

With the two questions after each module and the 12-question final assessment, allow about 45 minutes to complete the course.

Foundations establishes the foundational knowledge. Professional expands the training to include commercial cleaning equipment, floor care and broader contamination-control practices.

Assessment

How Knowledge Is Checked

Two questions per module

Each of the 15 modules includes two knowledge questions.

12-question final assessment

The course finishes with a 12-question final assessment, about six minutes long.

Recognition of completion

Employees who successfully complete the applicable Foundations training requirements receive recognition of course completion.

What the questions measure

These questions help measure the learner’s understanding of the information presented during the training. They are not a measure of practical workplace competency — employer observation, hands-on instruction and practical workplace evaluation remain separate responsibilities.

Printable reference material accompanies two Foundations modules

Those two modules are the only Foundations modules that carry printable reference material. The completed printable Workplace Reference Sheets binder is a Professional and Complete resource, and the SOP & Operational Standards manual is part of Complete.

Who It Is For

A Common Starting Point Across a Team

Employees arrive with different levels of previous commercial cleaning experience and training. Foundations can provide a consistent knowledge starting point regardless of where someone started, or who trained them last.

It can also help employers establish common foundational information before or alongside their own workplace-specific instruction, rather than rebuilding the same explanation for every new hire.

Module Progression

How Foundations Progresses Into Professional

Two Foundations subjects are handled differently in Professional. Neither is removed — both are carried forward in greater detail.

Microfiber Cloths → Cross-Contamination

Foundations

Includes a dedicated Microfiber Cloths module.

Professional

Microfiber cloth training is incorporated into the broader Cross-Contamination module and covered in greater detail there. It is carried forward, not removed.

Restroom Procedure → Restroom Quality and Inspection

Foundations

Includes the foundational Restroom Procedure module.

Professional

Professional expands the restroom training with a longer, more detailed Restroom module, followed by a separate Restroom Quality and Inspection module.

Professional

Clean-Skills Foundations is information-based training designed to support, not replace, employer-provided hands-on and workplace-specific training.

Employers remain responsible for training employees on their own facility, products and chemicals, equipment, policies and procedures.
