Commercial Cleaning Chemicals

Professional introduces an approximately 25-minute Commercial Cleaning Chemicals module covering common types of commercial cleaning chemicals and their purposes.

The module is intentionally brand-neutral. Rather than being built around one manufacturer’s product line, the training focuses on helping employees understand different types of commercial cleaning chemicals and what they are used for. This allows companies to apply the knowledge to their own workplace using the specific cleaning products, labels and procedures used within their facility.

The Chemical Reference Library is introduced with Professional and is also included with Complete, providing an additional resource that can be used alongside the chemical training.

Complete

A company-level package for employers who want the full Clean-Skills Training manual, SOPs and Operational Standards to support consistent workplace training and procedures.

Complete is different from Foundations and Professional. It is not simply another employee-training level. A company purchases Complete once to access the Complete company resources. Employers can then purchase Foundations or Professional training seats for individual employees, depending on the level of training they require.

How the Training Progresses

Foundations and Professional aren’t simply shorter and longer versions of the same course. As the training progresses, some foundational subjects are expanded into broader or more detailed areas of commercial cleaning knowledge.

Microfiber Cloths → Cross-Contamination

Foundations

Includes a dedicated Microfiber Cloth module that introduces the subject at a foundational level.

Professional

Professional and Complete expand that knowledge within a broader Cross-Contamination module, where microfiber cloths are covered in greater detail as part of cross-contamination prevention. The subject is carried forward — not removed.

Restroom Training → Restroom Quality and Inspection

Foundations

Includes foundational Restroom Procedure training.

Professional

Professional and Complete include a longer, more detailed Restroom module, followed by a separate Restroom Quality and Inspection module. This progression moves beyond understanding the cleaning procedure to include the standards used to evaluate the finished work.

Training That Supports the Workplace

A Knowledge Foundation Employers Can Build On

Every workplace is different. Companies may use different cleaning products, equipment, schedules, procedures and policies, and employees may arrive with very different levels of previous experience.

Clean-Skills Training provides a consistent foundation of knowledge that employers can build on with their own workplace-specific instruction, while the employer remains responsible for teaching employees how that knowledge is applied within their particular workplace.

Knowledge Assessments

Assessments help measure a learner’s understanding of the information presented during the training, and can help employers identify where an employee demonstrates understanding and where additional explanation, coaching or hands-on workplace training may be beneficial.

Assessments are not intended to replace an employer’s evaluation of an employee’s practical workplace performance.

Certificates

Employees who successfully complete the applicable training requirements receive recognition of course completion.

Certificates provide a record that the employee has completed the Clean-Skills training assigned to them.

Designed to Support Hands-On Training

Clean-Skills supports — but does not replace — employer-provided hands-on and workplace-specific instruction.

Employers remain responsible for training employees on their own facility, cleaning products, chemicals, equipment, policies and procedures.

General commercial

Designed for General Commercial Cleaning

Clean-Skills Training is designed for general commercial cleaning environments. It is not designed to provide training for healthcare or medical facilities, where additional infection prevention and control requirements, procedures, regulations and facility-specific training may apply.
